My darling Lucy,
Today you are 26 months old (and LOOK AT ME DOING THIS ON TIME!) It's hard to believe you are 26 months, but you are! This is the age when Ruby quit taking naps, but you still really need (and like) them. Most days you nap for 90min-2 hours and since I'm growing your baby sister, I join you whenever I can.
This has been an amazing month for you! You know all of your colors (except sometimes you forget pink) and you love to talk about what is what color. Every morning you remind us that the bus is YEYYO! and your jacket is PUHPUL! You also can match shapes and letters on the iPad. It blows my mind that you can do these things, but you have a big sister that you desperately want to keep up with so I shouldn't be too surprised. You are ridiculously smart and it's so amazing to watch. You also love to do puzzles and play with the game Perfection. It's rated for 4 years plus, but somehow you can totally do it. Your other favorite thing is the marble run! You will tell me "mama! Mahbuls! Sit, Share!"
You are also loving projects and painting. Especially if Ruby is working on one too.
You and Ruby have also started enjoying other messy projects together...
You went on your first bike ride in the trailer and had SO much fun! Daddy took you all around while I took Ruby and her friend to the movies. You love going on bikes/strollers/trailers. You just love to get out and see the world!
You desperately want to have hair long enough to wear pony tails or braids like Ruby, so we tried and the results were adorable.
You and Ruby are sleeping in your own room (occasionally you both sleep all night and don't call for me, but it's a slow process) under a new loft bed. You both have yet to start climbing and playing up there but honestly I'm in no hurry to worry about you falling off.
Bedtime is sometimes easy, but often involves somersaults and wildness. You occasionally will stop and read with Ruby and I but mostly you just have to be a monkey.
You love to share a snack tray with Ruby. She likes to direct what goes in it, but mostly you just want tomatoes and blueberries. Fall weather arrived today so our afternoons of snacking and playing in the yard half dressed are coming to a close.
You love sitting at the coffee table with Ruby for dinner and a movie (or play on the iPad, since you're not that into movies). You also love dining in the kitchen or dining room but the treat of pizza and a movie is too much to pass up for you both.
You LOVE your pet dog that you sometimes call "Dap". You've made a leash for him and drag him everywhere, including bed, the trampoline and for meals.
"Come here Doggie! eat!"
Like I said, you desperately want to be a big kid. It's so adorable, yet I am SO not ready, even though you are almost a big sister!
One lovely fall day we went for a walk and watched some guys take down a tree. You were thrilled and fascinated.
Nana was here for a week and you took her to the zoo. You got to meet a hippo and some lions, it was pretty awesome
We also went to the pumpkin patch with Kelcie and Nana. More fun was had.
Joe and Ashley got married! You were the star of the reception!
Cheers!
Dancing. so much dancing. With Kailie, with Kelcie, with Joe, with Max!
You and Ruby are so in love with each other... most of the time. You can't wait for her bus but then sometimes you get annoyed as soon as she comes inside. You want to play together, until you don't... You can snuggle with the best of them, until you drive each other crazy. But at the end of the day there is so much love.
My darling Lucy Mae, You are so amazing and adorable and fantastic. You are smart and funny and creative. You make us all laugh and cry and dance. You are 1000 paper cranes made real, and you couldn't be any more perfect.
All my love, Mama
