My dear sweet Lucy,
You are now TWO years old. 24 months. Offically a toddler and not a baby (although you'll always be my baby). You've had a busy fun month, topped off with a trip to Maui on your birthday (but we will cover that in the next letter).
We took another trip to OMSI, where you and Ruby had snacks and played for HOURS.
You absolutely love OMSI, and I'm looking forward to taking you one day when your sister is in school so you can explore without having to follow her around.
You also have gone to Girl Scouts with Ruby.
Your favorite part is closing circle, you even try to sing along at the end. We have a video of circle and you watch it every time you get your hands on my phone.
Speaking of the phone, you are OBSESSED with the phone, the ipad etc. We got you your own ipod touch for your birthday but you are NOT IMPRESSED.
We also took a few trips to the zoo. One just you and Ruby and I.
You stole my latte. As usual.
You also finished up your summer camp at The Cedar School. You had SO much fun this summer. You got ridiculously dirty every day, and enjoyed every minute of playing with your friends.
Carrying your back pack and bringing your lunch was pretty much your favorite part. I have to admit, you were pretty cute.
Your cousins Karsen and Karver came to visit! (and Uncle Kurt and Auntie Katy and Grandma)
There was berry picking (and some tough but fun stroller sharing)
I think you ate more berries than you picked but that's your job.
We also went to Oaks Park. You were terrified of all the rides this time, which was a complete bummer to your daddy who was super excited to take you.
But you did have fun taking some pictures.
We took a hike in Forest Park at the Audubon Society.
You love doing stuff outside! If you had it your way you would run off down the trail and no one would catch you. Not surprisingly I'm not a fan.
You are still nursing, and finally it's slightly less uncomfortable. You only nurse at nap and bedtime, and sometimes you even skip that. You've also named my boobs. Right = "geen" (green) and Left = yeyyo (yellow). Sometimes you say that your baby sister can have geen but mostly you don't want to share. Don't worry, you don't have to for a few more months.
We also took a trip to the zoo. You LOVE the zoo. you love looking at the animals and running from exhibit to exhibit.
You really loved watching the construction. It was pretty cute.
We had a birthday party for you, but I didn't have my phone with me so there weren't very many pictures.
You are super into climbing EVERYTHING, and doing whatever the big kids do, whether or not it's safe or easy for you to do. You are developing less fear and exploring what your little body can do. It makes me a little nervous because your sister wasn't this exploratory at 2, but we're trying to let you figure it all out on your own.
We had a birthday party for you, a week before your birthday since we were flying to Maui ON your birthday.
You drank juice. Lots and lots of juice.
You LOVED that Auntie Bug brought "Aaaaeeee!" (Avery) and you loved on him so much, while the big kids splashed in the pool.
And you were SO excited about your cake.
SO excited.
You love the new van. You call it the "WHITE!" and ask to ride in it often. However we don't use it often because we don't need to seat that many people yet so you settle for the "BOOO!" (the blue prius)
My dear sweet Lulu, you are so very amazing. You are so loving and kind (mostly) and when someone you love gets home you scream their name and you RUN towards them with your arms outstretched. You can make anyone feel special, with your sweet hugs and your adorable kisses. Your abilty to communicate your needs and wishes and to make us laugh is such a joy and blessing. I can't wait to see what you do next. Thank you for coming into our family, for making Ruby a big sister and for filling our hearts with such joy.
I love you, I love you, I love you.
All my heart, Mama
