I'm tired. Monday is my day off, but it's always filled and by the end of the day I'm so exhausted. I have a few more things I'd like to blog about before the end of the month, including
- Being tied to a label
- Ties from beyond the grave
- People I'd like to tie to a moving train
But I don't have the energy to do any of that today. Why? Well, I'll tell you why...
Today, I woke up at 5:10 with my sweet Ruby, after not falling asleep last night till well after midnight (insomnia). I spent the first hour of the day in the dark offering her banana, hoping she'd go back to sleep, knowing it was a ridiculous thing to hope for. We were out of bed and in the kitchen by 6:20 with much whining and neediness. I made coffee, sausages, and started a loaf of bread rising. We read some books, then cleaned the kitchen and baked some bread (and then cleaned the kitchen again. Laundry was folded and put away, and then we packed up for our outings for the day.
We made a quick stop at one grocery store for bacon (yum!) and tortillas (not to be used together). Next up we had an hour of speech therapy with Ruby's awesome ST. Then we headed up to the soaking pool at the Kennedy School. We met up with friends and had a fabulous hour in the sun and hot water. Then we headed to my friend Pauline's to drop off some stuff, have lunch and pick up some things to deliver to Celeste. We hung out and played (Ruby was in LOVE with P's dog Cody) for about 90 minutes with Pauline, Hedy and their girls. Then we stopped at another friend's house to pick up some toys (again to deliver to someone else, what can I say, if I'm in the neighborhood, I might as well run an errand, no?).
By the time we got home, it was about 3 pm and we were both tired and ready for a little rest. I popped in a video Ruby hadn't seen in a while (Finding Nemo) and hoped she'd stay engrossed for the whole movie. I spent the 90 minutes checking email, and having a couple of conversations both on the computer and on the phone. I knew that I had produce to pick up both for our family and Ruby's preschool, but thankfully a lovely friend offered to pick up my stuff for me, so I had one less errand to do (thanks Melissa!).
I'd planned on starting dinner while Ruby watched her movie, but she had other plans. By the time I'd dragged my tired (and ice coffeed) ass off the kitchen chair, she was demanding that I entertain her. We read some more books and put on some music, that she forced me to perform silly dances for her to. I'm hilarious with the 3 year old set, I tell ya. Finally I suckered her into helping me vacuum, which means she rides around on the canister vac turning it off and on while I attempt to suck up all of the cat hair and crumbs. It's incredibly productive.
Finally I started dinner, tacos... but Ruby was too interested in snacking to actually eat dinner (which seems to be a theme lately). Ryan got home, we ate and had some good family playtime and laughs. By 6:30 Ruby was clearly giddy with exhaustion and they headed up to take a shower and get to bed. I cleaned the kitchen and waited for my produce delivery. It arrived around 7, I separated out our stuff and MVCS stuff and loaded up the car with produce, toys and clothes. At 7:30 I hit the road, dropping stuff off where it belonged and ending up at Celeste's house to get some help with an ad I'm having made for the Redirect Guide. We ended up chatting for a bit when we were done with the work but at 9 pm she turns into a pumpkin and I was ready to actually spend some time with my husband before I also became some variety of squash. I walked in the door around 9 pm, changed into pjs and ... that brings us to right now.
So see? I just don't have the energy to blog.
Thank you for sharing your very full day. I know you must be exhausted! Loving you!!!
